Hard Water
Exhibition (Climate Action Week 2026)

Hard Water is a soundscape composition developed for Climate Action Week 2026 and presented at Khaliq dina Hall, Karachi. The work explores water not simply as a natural resource, but as a social, political, and sensory condition, asking how access to water is experienced through everyday sound. I added a 5 min edit for the web purpose.
The composition draws on environmental recordings and layered sonic textures to reflect on scarcity, infrastructure, and unequal access. Hard Water invites listeners to engage with water through listening, encouraging reflection on the often unnoticed sounds that shape daily life and reveal broader environmental realities.
Presented within the context of climate action, the work considers how sound can contribute to conversations about environmental justice and urban life. It forms part of my broader practice of using listening as a way of understanding cities, public space, and the relationships between people, infrastructure, and the environment.
